In 2006 Canadian Friends of VAMOS! started the mobile learning centres. Each week four facilitators and 24 laptop computers travel to very poor communities giving 9 sessions in 5 different VAMOS! community centres. Tables and chairs are rearranged and each computer has wireless access to a high speed internet service. We invite all children in the community 10 years and older to come to learn with the hope that they will stay in school and excell.
Each session teaches a new skill either in WORD, POWERPOINT, GOOGLE, EXCEL or other productivity tools. Subjects studied in the public school curriculum are researched on the web. Students are given the opportunity to share their research with their classmates through oral presentations of their findings.
